This month’s MNC&C show was a joy given the beautiful weather. The show’s official photographer, Alex Bellus, was busy racing in Chumpcar at BIR, so I was asked to help shoot some photos. I found that collecting video for my yearlong project and shooting photos for the show was really difficult. However, I was able to grab a couple great photos of some great cars, like this ’55 550:

and this very cool Triumph TR44 (from what I understand there were a number of British cars heading to a British Car show later that day):

There was even this crazy thing:

I did catch some good clips for my end-of-the-year project, but more importantly, I got a few great sounds. I particularly enjoyed the Supra driver who perfectly timed this blowoff valve release:

Another very successful show with record turnout of over 700 show cars and 3,000+ spectators, thanks mostly to the fantastic weather. I can’t wait for the next show!

Correct me if I am wrong but the supra sounded more like compressor surge than blow off.
Still sounds sweet.
You’re absolutely correct, it goes by many names but what you hear is an incorrectly-sized BOV making air go back out through the turbo’s compressor. The description of this vid is good: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZUbo_mNDZM
